February 7, 2020

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to February 2020 (wow time flies). It has basically been a month since I have taken over this territory and let me tell you there is so so much to learn. If you are like me and not a computer savvy person it can be frustrating at times. I have literally had to stop what I was doing and just walk away for the evening, then when I come back the next day magically my laptop seems to do what I want it to. I will continue to grow and learn and hopefully not make to many mistakes.

A little about me, I am California born and raised. I grew up in Southern California where my love for sunsets on the beach grew, when I was 26 moved to Northern Calif. I have 4 beautiful grown children that are from 21 to 31. I was blessed in having 2 boys and 2 girls. When my kids were growing up I was a head start/state preschool teacher and I had a children's entertainment business called Purple D and Friends. For those of you wondering if Purple D is Barney, you are correct!! We also had pikachu, big bird, winnie the pooh (just acquired Minnie Mouse) along with a clown and magical act. I was a Cub Master, Girl Scout Leader, sat on a few non profit boards. Let's just say I was busy. Well next thing you know I blinked and my kids grew up (amazing how that happens). My kids have all moved out with 3 of them in Pollock Pines and 1 that is clear across the world in a town called Bishteck (?sp). I was missing having children around so I became a foster parent. I have had a beautiful little girl in my home for almost 3 years now and hopefully this year I will be blessed to adopt her.

I wanted to show you a map of what the Macaroni Kid Placerville edition looks like. As you can see it is a big area, I hate to say I have not been to some of these areas. I definitely will be changing that in the future. Placerville Macaroni Kid proudly caters to Cameron Park, Camino, Coloma, Diamond Springs, El Dorado, Fairplay, Garden Valley, Georgetown, Lotus, Mosquito, Mt. Aukum, Placerville, Pleasant Valley, Pollock Pines, Rescue, Shingle Springs, Somerset and Swansboro Country. Each of these towns I know have some great things about them, could be a delicious restaurant that you just have to try, a historic tourist area, maybe an awesome park or great outdoor activities. With your help I would love to highlight each and every town, even the ones not mentioned in our territory. So please let me know your favorite spot, the camp ground you go to every year, the shop owner that treats everyone like family, you get the picture.

I hope you have noticed that one of the great things about Macaroni Kid is that we are all about family! I want MacKid Placerville to be your one stop place to look for what you want to do today, get reviews on all the great places in town, things for parents to do when they are kid free, what places are kid friendly etc....  You can always find things to do on the events Calendar. If you know a event that you don't see posted please feel free to add it, I love the help.

https://placervilleca.macaronikid.com/events/calendar

On the Calendar you will notice in the heading of each event I try to let you know where the event is:

PV - Placerville

CP - Cameron Park

SS - Shingle Springs

DS - Diamond Springs

GT - George Town

The name of the event, what ages it is geared for, $ means there is a cost and will also say if it is a fundraiser.

You will also see events that are not in our area that I think you may like.

OK well, I think I am going to stop here before I make this to long. I promise as I get going and as I get to know who my readers are my newsletters will get better..

Have a fantastic weekend,

Rosalie
